Don Toliver New York Concert reviews
No Plan B? Maybe Van should rethink that!
Don Toliver has been a favorite of mine for years and I was so excited to finally get to see him. Unfortunately, he only played 1 song from the new album. I was psyched up and learned as many lyrics as I could from his latest "No Plan B" album. To my surprise and dismay, he let special guests take up way too much time performing Scat and Doo-Wop. It was presumptuous and complacent of him to think his audience would like that. I only counted 5 decent songs, including Moondance, which he ruined by singing as a duet with his daughter. Thinking about the lyrics, it was kinda creepy listening to him singing about "A fantabulous night to make romance," alongside his daughter. I'm sure there are die hard fans who may have enjoyed this performance, but as for me, I think it was a waste of time and money.
